About Our School 🏫

The idea of a school in New Alipore was born out of a shared vision. Eminent residents of the area strongly felt the need for a good secondary school for boys and appealed to the Government of West Bengal. The Department of Education responded, sponsoring the institution. Land for the school was generously donated by the Life Insurance Corporation, while the Public Works Department undertook the construction of the building.

The Managing Committee was formed with distinguished leaders at its helm:

  • Justice S. K. Sen, ICS (Retd.) – President

  • Mr. Nogesh Chakraborty, Chief Presidency Magistrate (Retd.) – Vice President

  • Mr. Anil Kumar Gupta, DI, Calcutta (Retd.) – Headmaster-Secretary

  • Dr. Sunil Ray – Representative of the State Government

Alongside, a primary section was established under the care of Mrs. Gouri Gupta as Headmistress-in-charge.

On 9th January 1964, the institution was formally founded and named New Alipore Multipurpose School.

Over the decades, it has grown into one of the most prestigious Bengali-medium schools in South Kolkata. For more than 50 years, the school has shaped generations of students, nurturing countless achievers under the guidance of eminent educationists. In 2014, the school proudly celebrated its Golden Jubilee, honoring a legacy of excellence in education.
